CONDUCTORS

Galaxy’ bare overhead conductor product portfolio caters to a wide range of power transmission and distribution applications - EHV (400kV - 765kV), HV (66kV – 220kV) and power distribution (11kV- 33kV).

 

All conductor products are compliant with IEC, ASTM, AS, SS, DIN & EN international standards. Products have also been successfully type tested up to 765 kV at ERDA (India), TAG Corporation (India) and NETFA (South Africa).

AAC (All Aluminium Conductors)

These are homogeneous conductors in pure aluminum. These conductors are suited for low voltage lines linking bridges between the dead-end clamps of the high-voltage lines installed with aluminum conductors steel reinforced and are also suited for high-voltage busbars at the sub-stations.

AAAC (All Aluminium Alloy Conductors)

These are homogeneous conductors in aluminum alloy. These conductors have intrinsic features of zero corrosion, high strength to weight ratio, better sag characteristics and hence are suited for installation in long spans.

These are bi-metallic conductors in aluminum and aluminum alloy. These conductors are a good selection when both ampacity and strength are prime considerations in line design. These conductors offer high strength and allow high voltages in large span runs

ACSR (Aluminium Conductors Steel Reinforced)

These are bi-metallic conductors in aluminum and zinc coated steel or Aluminum cladded steel. The aluminum cladding of the steel wires provides a first-rate protection against corrosion whilst allowing an improvement in the electrical conductivity of these wires.

AACSR (Aluminium Alloy Conductors Steel Reinforced

These are bi-metallic conductors in aluminum alloy and zinc coated steel. These conductors offer optimal strength for line design and the variable steel core stranding enables desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing ampacity.

AL59 (Swedish Alloy with 59 ConducYvity)

These are homogenous conductors in aluminum + magnesium + silicon alloy. These conductors have lower sag, higher current carrying and power transfer capacity with lesser cross sectional area. These conductors are suited for use in low voltage to ultra-high voltage lines.
